Report - Keele tunnel Shropshire oct 2014

Opened in 1870 closed in 1999 originally double track the line was singled in 1934 passenger services ended in the 60s but the line was used for freight carrying up to 10000 tons a week in 1962/3 ,the line served silverdale pit up its closure in 1998 .the track is still in place and several unused sleepers are still in the tunnel .visited with explorer dog Binky
