Water Eaton is a small hamlet just North of Oxford and adjacent to the A34. A large grain silo was built there in 1940 as a WW2 strategic silo between Kidlington and Oxford. The Water Eaton Grain Silo was used up until the 1980s and has remained derelict since then. It is a large building that can be clearly seen when driving past on the A34.
Visited on a nice January morning with a non-member (my brother). This was the "main event" of the day's exploring and didn't disappoint. Access into the silo is slightly tricky, involving a bit of climbing, but nothing too insurmountable. The "reward" of getting onto the summit are fantastic views over Oxfordshire and towards the city of Oxford
