Kilrush Convent

The convent was built in 1862, and closed in the 1990s. It has kept a lot of it's original details inside including a chapel with hand placed tiling and stained glass.

A fairly relaxed start to our second day in Ireland when we visited some sites all in close proximity to each other. I think this one would have been a lot more enjoyable if 95% of the windows were boarded, even on the third floor (!). We were also having problems with our only torch so we didn't spend too long here, although the chapel was very impressive. It was still a fun explore of a large site, with some great original features that remindedme of St Joes.

The only thing I didn't enjoy at the chapel was the drop down wall, complete with a glass arch to see into the hall from a balcony.
