Kinbrace Royal Observer Corps (ROC) post opened in 1959 and closed in 1991 (according to subbrit.org.uk).

Kinbrace is Post 16 within 30 Group ROC headquartered in Inverness (King Duncan's Road). Observation Lieutenant MacDonald was responsible for this post along with Melvich (15), Altnaharra (17) & Tongue (19).

I first visited this ROC post in 2011, when It was still securely locked. Roll on 2019 the locks and hinges have been cut with a grinder and the post is now OPEN. At least the hatch is normally shut and it is dry inside. The remoteness of the post (albeit its location next to a public road) has helped restrict the number of visitors and contributed to its relatively good condition.

My highlight was seeing the label on the floor for the RD 310 Bomb Power Indicator.

My tripod was buried in the car somewhere so all photos were handheld or with camera resting on something.

In 1973 27 Group ROC (Oban) was disbanded and posts were added to 30 Group ROC (Inverness), this may be when this post at Kinbrace was renumbered from 32 to 16.

Contrary to popular belief other scouring powders apart from "GLITTO" may be found in ROC Posts, this is:
SW SUPPLIES DIVISION
Scouring Powder
with bleach 1lb 4oz
made by LEVER INDUSTRIAL LIMITED
I should have checked it for a date as I subsequently notice the label says "The bleach content has a limited shelf life of up to 12 months".

First Aid cupboard, the contents were spread around the post.
