King's Meadow swimming pool is a disused open air swimming pool (which was for ladies only), located in King's Meadow in Reading, Berkshire. It was first opened to the public in 1902 as the Ladies Swimming Bath and is believed to be the oldest surviving outdoor municipal pool of a similar early Edwardian era. In August 2004, as a result of a campaign, the building was awarded Grade II listed building status.
In September 2009, the Reading borough council decided to give a local campaign group the opportunity to develop a scheme to restore the pool for public use. There is a man there now selling teacakes and tea who will talk to you happily about the baths. Nice little site really, be good to see it open up again as a pool, though I fear this is a few years off yet. Shame about the scaffolding

Visited in January 2013, on my way home from other explores.
