History:
Just before the second world war the construction of this power plant started, the plan was to make a brand new modern station to deliver power to this heavily industrialized area which was growing rapidly. When it got finished it unfortunately couldn't be opened due to the approaching invasion of the alleys in France.
After the war was over, this plant survived it completely untouched, so one year after the war it could finally be opened. In these years of operation it got temporarily shut down in the 60s to built a brand new wing on to the existing turbine hall. But that aside it ran successfully until the day of closure.

Just a week before the corona lockdown I had the chance to visit this massive defunct coal power plant, and what am I happy to have visited this place.

Enjoy :)

I also made a video of this massive defunct coal power plant. In the video I will go more in depth into the former past of this place:

Thanks for reading and watching!
