Been busy with work lately, but decided to go out one evening I had off :)

Hope Cement Works was opened in 1929, then part of G&T Earle. The site was chosen due to its proximity to essential raw materials in cement making - Limestone and Shale. The works later became part of Blue Circle and was upgraded significantly in the 1960s and in 2001 was absorbed into the Lafarge group. The works produces 750,000 tonnes of cement each year, which most is dispatched by rail due to agreement's with the Peak District National Park Authority.

Me and Raptor Jesus were in the area, which combined with the fact neither of us had been to a cement works before made it seem rude not to have a nosey.
