This is my first Report here. First visited here earlier in the year and its kind of a 'Tale of Two Fails'
1st fail was getting there 5 years too late...well I'd been up the hill 5 years ago, as there used to be a sick mountainbike freeride trail that got torn down by FC but never bothered to expore the castle. so, I never got to see the view off the roof. Its now an extremely dangerous ruin, be warned there's a lot of risk for little thats left. The decaying castle was destroyed by a fire in 2008. More recently huge holes in the walls have been made, supposedly to make the building safer...aye right
2nd fail was the reason I went in, as the troglodyte in me wanted to find the elusive Lennox Tunnels. There is an access/ventilation shaft but it has been capped in concrete
more about the tunnel in part2.
