Liverpool House is a row of Georgian houses which was converted to a large shop sometime early in the 20th C. Another one for that "100 things to do with a Georgian house" book I'll write one day.

It was a department store of some note according to google, although I can't find much about it other than it was well known for it's santa's grotto and it closed in the 1990's.

The shop was pretty dull so I've focused on the basement for the report, which was pretty fantastic. Packed full of junk from the days of the dept store, in no order at all. I think they had pretty much used it as a tip by the 70's, as there was a vast selection of broken counters, signs, displays etc just piled up in each of the rooms! I dread to think what the fire inspector had to say! Very difficult to photograph really but the stuff down there was a great snapshot of what the shop must have been like in it's heyday.
