Visited with Mookie and Treads. Big thanks to Treads for the transport and putting up with me :). Sorry this report is a bit late but I've been pretty busy so haven't got round to putting this up.

We'd come here after deciding to perspone attempting a nearby but much harder site (watch this space - I'm going back with a vengeance) after seeing it might be a bit difficult at the time. I really really loved this place; it's the former RAF Long Marston which is now used for stuff like drag racing. I doubt these are forgotten about as since about 2008 a lot of the planes have thankfully been sold for restoration; the last one to leave was for Malta in 2009 or 2010. Such a shame that no-one has actually done much if anything since these ones came in 88-89. I'd really like for them to be saved, particularly the Shackleton but if they've been left like this it becomes more unlikely as time goes by.

Pics here. Some might be lacking in depth of field or blurry 'cause I didn't take my tripod up and had to shoot handheld, but I hope you like them anyway:

Cab interior - I didn't have a wide enough angle lens but this is basically what remains.

Wasn't particularly bothered by this plane so I didn't get as many pics but still

Cockpit - I tried to get in but I couldn't get the flaps to open (pardon the pun, it's not intended LOL :p)
