Thanks for making me a member peoples, appreciated. Now, Lympne Airport was has been a military and civil airfield that operated from 1916 to 1984. It has been the landing point for many record flights, held air races and even used for the German aircraft adapted by the RAF in the plot to kidnap Adolf Hitler. Not much of the original site remains as a big industrial site is on the ground of the airport but many small buildings and personnel shelters survive in surrounding fields. The small buildings are used by Port Lympne Zoo but haven't seen much use in the last few years.
