Lynton House Hotel. Madeira Road. Weston Super-Mare. Consisted of three semi detached Victorian Villas linked to create a 56 Bedroom hotel able to house 80 guests. Three floors, then again the word 'floors' is a bit of a complement. Be careful where you tread is all I'm going to say. Subject to a rather successful arson attack in 2008, causing its closure, and again in 2015, Lynton House is a mix of burnt out ruin and squatters paradise. Established in the 90s from three other separated hotels on Madeira road formed in the 1920s/80s, from what I can gather it wasn't 5* material. One review described Lynton house as the 'hotel from hell.' In terms of current state, the video link above to my edit of the our visit should sum that up fairly well. Overall, well worth a look in my opinion. Oh, and, watch for the anti climbing paint. That stuff is a bitch to wash off.

PS - Note at 3:05 Graffitti reads 'House of hell? Nope we seen the light.' - This may be linked to this review by a hotel customer before it was closed http://www.bristolpost.co.uk/Lynton...l-hell-guest/story-11291557-detail/story.html.

Certainly a good start. It's a good that you've included some detailed history on the place too. Shame it's a bit trashed but looks like you guys enjoyed it. The idea of cycling to explores really appeals to me actually. Might have to put my road bike to good use soon.

Enjoyed the video.

Any idea if Dorville Hotel is still standing? Haven't been to Weston Super-Nightmare for a while.

I am glad. Unfortunately I am not sure however would love to know if you do find out. I heard it was to be converted into flats but can't confirm this.

It is on Madeira road but I can't work out via online sources whether it has been converted yet or not
Ive Headed over and found it but its mid construction took a quick pic while there if anyone wants to see its state of rebuild. There is an other hotel next door thats boarded up but is missing a roof and has trees growning out the window.

I think the best place would be to go to your towns council and look for planning applications put in and the dates etc... Hope this helps you in your research etc
