Having loved doing bypass in Bradford it was a no brainer that we would be back to have a further nosy at this wonderful system . Teaming up with Nuboid again we gained access at the side of the Audi dealership just of kings road a bit further upstream from our last visit just after the split ( rainbow bridge ) It was a fair old drop down to the culvert ( not recommended ) we needed a bit of rope to get down safely once in the water there was a very small culvert downstream not worth bothering with we then started walking upstream until we arrived at the start of the next underground section
942422

pretty modern concrete affair but easy going underfoot
942423

the next pick was under the car park of tesco next to canal road theres no exit in or out here as its completely grilled over as visible on google maps !
942424

moving on upstream
942425

big culvert this next pic looking back downstream
942426

change in styles to concrete box section
942427

approaching the end and in to an open air section
942428

older construction this then outside after only a short walk we approached the next underground section
942430

diddnt hang around here as i wasnt sure if this was still used as a mill or if it was now apartments ?
942431

twin brick box section we had a nosy up the brick pipe on the right
942432

942433

it split down in to to smaller pipes , back to the main explore the twin box section became one
942434

some lovely brick vaulting on the ceiling
942435

out of the old section and a return to modern concrete
942436

thankfully that soon reverted back to older type construction complete with stone flagged floor
942437

small concrete box section then back to brick arch so nice modern stallagtites
942438

A bit further upstream we encountered another ( one of many ) small off shots some lovely blue brickwork here what made this unusual was that there was a drain directly underneath this drain ! A steel plate missing underfoot meant we had to carefully step over to continue
942439

lovely blue bricks on the bottom it went uphill more steeply than the pic suggests to a CSO was slippery as hell underfoot
942440

back to the main explore around this point we made friends with mr Rat whom we followed upstream for a time before crossing over and overtaking him
942441

waterfall ! loads of different styles down here
942442

back to concrete box section this eventually split in to two we investigated a side tunnel thinking it was a CSO
942443

to smaller tunnels that eventually became one , absolutely stank ! still we had a nosy up
942444

two stoopy quite long box tunnels become one large brick pipe there was a step up here
942445

bits of poo floating downstream was about 8 feet tall the pipe
942446

looking back downstream you can see the stone arch section and stone floor this was never a foul drain someone has piped in ( illegally we found the pipe in question ) after this point the drain was clean
942447

942449

a split here
942450

this was as far as we got the diameter had reduced as well to less than 6 foot we had been a time following this longer than the pics suggest had already seen of one set of batteries in the head torch and was aware that we had a fair way still to go so back out the way we came in
942451

942452

The arches
942453

twin box section upstream
942456

taking pictures of Nuboid taking pictures
942457

there was another off shot had a quick look up but it soon turned to stoopy concrete box section so back to the main drag
942458

older section with vaulting of the RSJ in the ceiling we kept left as it was drier than the right hand tunnel
942459

942460

plain concrete box
942461

the twin tunnels reunite here to one box some nice old girders here
942462

light at the end ( had been underground a fair time now )
942463

looking back downstream
942464

open air bit looked like we were in the middle of a construction site moving on again upstream
942465

last pic you can see daylight at the end this is were we climbed out on to thornton road just above the lord clyde pub another cracking explore in bradford thanks for viewing :thumb

Stunning images. Loving the box build, to bricks, wavey brickwork and then those pillars. Stunning. Something special about all these styles connecting. Cracking report. :thumb

Noice. You can drop back in the arches at Forster Square to see Academy next and save the extra walk. It's from the bit where you said mill/ apartments. I've found nobody in Bradford seems to care what you're up to and you'll find loads of bodged illegal pipework there as you mentioned lol.

OMFG !!!!!!
What a grand morning that was !!!!
Pics came out nice too
Just my two-penneth but them RBP CSO's along the way are exquisite ....been mentioned before, its perhaps some of the finest brickwork outside of London !!!!!!!
and as for them illegal connections, not nice having to dodge the 'bangers and mash' everywhere !!!!!!!
Dont think you got a shot of these 2 little 'invitations' ..............if i get a spare 10 mins gona go back for a peek in there....look how high the ragging is on top of the grill ...got to be really wazzing it down to fill these up !!!!!
