The main building - Malsis Hall - is grade two listed as of 1984 having been built in an 'Italian Style' in the 1860's as a residence for James Lund, worsted spinner and manufacturer of North Beck Mills, Keighley. The building was sold to the preparatory school in 1920. The school closed in 2014 after numbers dwindled to just 80 and they ran out of cash. The actual grounds are pretty expansive and included 3 km mountain bike trail, 9-hole golf course, swimming pool, rifle range and 40 acres of grounds. By the sounds of it the site will be turned into residential homes and the hall itself will become a care home.

Bit of history is available here:

Bumped into two other explorers on the way to this one and spent a several hours wandering around the building. I recently acquired a full frame camera so this was a great place to test it out properly, turns out I need a tripod.

I went to this school around 20 years ago... such a shame to see it in this state. I would like to go back and have a look round myself.. does anyone know if it is still accessible now? Can the thread creator tell me how they got entry into the building?

It goes against the convention of the Urbex community to publicise entrance details. This is because of possible self-incrimination, as well as to minimise the risk of entrances being closed off by owners or security; similarly to deter vandalism by lazy opportunists.. but by far the main reason really is because the details can change at the drop of a hat! The way in - if there is one - will likely have changed by now.. you’ll have to take a chance and make your own way; if no one will provide more recent details! :)

Glad to stoke up some memories for you though, it is an impressive building. Here’s hoping it keeps its head above water with the planned developments, it would be a real shame to see it deteriorate! Definitely a highlight for me from 2017!

Thanks for the info! I'll give it a shot in the coming weekends
