History
Manhattan's was once one of Southports biggest nightclubs, While being less known than the likes of the burnt down Kingsway it was still well known in the area. From what I've seen it closed some time between 2005/6 and has been left derelict since. My personal guess would be 2006 since of the England flag probably relating to the 2006 World Cup.
When the original structure was built in the 1860s it was a Victorian bathhouse built alongside the still operating baths it was designed by architects Horton & Brigford of manchester. In addition the building original had a gymnasium for men, second class swimming pools and slipper baths. It was only around the 50s when the Baths was converted to a Nightclub with previous nightclubs such as Palm Court inside the building.

some vintage 1990s footage!

There wasn't to special about entry but having little idea of what was inside i was so surprised to see such a grand building in this state with many architectural treats that made this one of my favourite sites. Inside the building its one of the most dusty places i've been with a section of the roof collapsed at the back. Even in its current state its a personal favourite.

Nice job. Liking the iron work there. Dont care much for their colour scheme lol. Looks in not bad nick, considering that the roof collapsed. Any externals?:thumb

On my list to do this one, as a local who spent many years working in the Kingsway nightclub I remember the rivalry well between the two clubs well so I’ll add in a few memories if I get to do my own take on it soon.
good to see it’s not forgotten
