Well a nice way to finish off what has been a very busy 2012 away from exploring. Mid Wales Hospital is always a favourite site for me. It was my first Aslyum and given that I don't class Barrow as one it's also my closest. I've been more times that I care to remember over the period of 5-6 years. It's been over 2 years since I last went and to be honest I'd not given much though of returning having heard tales of nutjob tyre drillers and yard dogs. Well despite the fence around the entire site it seems the place is back in the 'nobody cares' state of years gone past. It's hard to believe the sheer state of the place now though.

I know the locals want to preserve the original buildings on the site but for me they are now too far gone to be anywhere close to a financially viable plan to keep them. There's been too much neglect over the 12 years, too many careless owners. I hope the people involved in the original sell off are feeling proud. If you've not read up on what happened in the original Oct 1999 sale then read on here: http://www.nationalparksreforms.co.uk/Mid_Wales_Hospital.htm

Floors have collapsed on many wards, there is fire damage in the corridor behind the main hall and several other places theres been attempts at fires started. It's almost as is the delveopers would prefer the place to burn down. I can't think why. Can you? http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-mid-wales-20026889

Visited with Seffy & Sinnerman. It was good to get out and about again fellas.

Oh look, it looks like a JCB has **accidently** driven into the side of the east wards.

If you've not visited this place, go soon because it really won't be standing much longer. Take some wellies and be VERY careful on the second floors because they are all close to collapse. Several pairs of underwear were required yesterday
