The benefits of being out and about at 6am.
I was in Hay on Wye for a family celebration and being but 6 miles away it would have been a shame not to have had a look at the Mid Wales Hospital fka the Brecon & Radnor joint Asylum. Visited with my brother in law, cheers to Tumbles for the info which allowed our ingress to be simple and effective.
History: Was an Asylum / Mental institution from 1903 - 1999. Now derp. Have been loads of plans to do stuff with it but consequently very few of them came to fruition and the complex now sits in a state of ever accelerating decay thanks to having no roof coverings whatsoever.
A few pictures, excuse the quality as they were shot on my Fuji point & shoot.
The grounds are extremely overgrown and sheep, bizarrely, graze quite happily there, even entering the buildings.
