Firstly thanks to dave for finding this place. Its a the Odebrecht-SLP offshore fabrication & assembly yard which made bits for the oil instrustry up until the very late 90s.
Its now owned by our old friends Able UK, part of their decomission sites, though as anyone whose been to their other site where the Ghost Ships are knows, there's not much decomission going on, just dereliction - which is good news for us!
So firstly this pic should pinpoint the location:
There's a few bits and pieces left from the people who worked here. Opened this 1992 catalogue and amused by the inscription
And check out the shoulder pads on the receptionist!
Now all those overhead cranes, I couldn't leave without getting up on one.
This sums up a lot about the place, heavy solid, engineering, the bolt is about 12 inches long
