Report - MoD Warminster Road generator house and underground reservoir, Bath, April 2016

Nothing much left of the well known MoD property directly on Warminster Road, but as Bertie Bollockbrains and I were in the area we decided to nip along the Kennet And Avon Canal to two structures I'd previously spotted on a bike ride.

The two buildings, though small, are very visible from the canal and clearly date from the second world war. One is a generator room, the other an underground reservoir and pump house.

Firstly, the reservoir. Which shows signs of being lived in.

The genny building is empty aside from the support pads. There's a public footpath just behind the fence.

These pics taken from a long roadtrip through Wiltshire that took in 6 sites, starting at 8 in the morning and finishing at 11 at night. So don't go thinking we travelled just for this! Anyways just confirming that MOD Warminster Road is now demolished, apart from the outbuildings you see above, and I understand that it was never explored.

Nah, seriously though. I've started to space my lunch break out during the day rather than just take the hour in one. Breaks the day up nicely.
