Hi All,
Just got around to uploading and touching these guys up, hope you enjoy. All in all a fun explore, industry on a large scale never seems to get old. Here's what little history I was able to compile even after several trips to the library, and most of this came from off the internet anyway!

Although devoid of most industry today, Laramie Wyoming was once a blue-collar town that relied on industrial fabrication to support it's populace. Little evidence of that exist today, but the Monolith Portland factory reminds us of Laramies industrial roots. Founded in 1927, the Monolith Portland Cement factory served Laramie through the late 90's, finally moving into their new location in an adjacent lot. The company has been plagued with lawsuits for much of it's history, first over patent infringement regarding it's innovative ways of lining it's rotary kilns, and later by the Sierra Club for emissions violations.

In the mid 1980's, financial woes lead to the company trading hands and coming under the ownership of the Mountain Cement Company, which still operates in an adjacent factory, making access a little sketchy. The company still quarries it's own limestone from a nearby quarry, and was delivered by steam-locomotive until the late 1970's.

We found some pretty eerie stuff here, including paper work in the admin/laboratory building pertaining to arsenic-poisoning lawsuits along with 20 year old blood samples! For a building that has been closed for 20 odd years, the admin building was in truly amazing condition

Also excuse some of the weird cropping, I went a little overboard on some of these.. and would someone be kind enough to tell me how to edit my tags so the photos are centered?

Very very nice! I see what mean about the kiln's having a simular design. Some great shots too.

With regaurds to centering your pictures you need to put the word CENTER at the start of the photo's URL and /CENTER at the end of the URL. Both need to be in brackets, e.g. [CENTRE]. Hope that makes sence.
