Hi everyone and welcome to my 1st ever report :) I met up with another 28DL member The Lone Shadow yesterday for a road trip into Leicester to venture out around whatever disused and derelict places we could find. Unfortunately 1 of our main options fell through (it had been renovated and is up for sale) which was a shame as it was derelict for 8 years and not 1 post on here about it. This was our 4th find but my god the hugest one of the day and probably my favorite too. I know this has been reported quite a few times on here already so i wont go into too much detail on the history, It opened in 1865 and closed in the 1990's and was 1 of Europe's biggest hosiery factory's, By the 1900's it employed over a thousand people mostly women and was the makers of Mark's & Spencer's brand St Michael's. By the 1970's their annual trade with Mark's & Spencer's was in the excess of £20 million.
