Newmiln House Newmiln is an 18th century Scottish mansion House, standing within its own 700 acre estate, and bordering with historic Scone.
The magnificent sandstone building, which was built in 1745 with additions in 1855, has eight bedrooms, each with an en suite or private bathroom, a formal drawing-room, dining-room and panelled library, and a rear wing boasting three further bedrooms, a family den and offices. It is a fine rambling property with the Gone With The Wind-style staircase at its heart. But it is also a large property for a family of five, which is why, coupled with the high heating and maintenance costs, the couple let out the main house to groups for house parties. This has attracted celebrities such as Liam Neeson, Kate Moss, Jude Law, Meg Matthews and Rhys Ifans, who have all appreciated the property’s exclusive position.
Stolen from Brewtal: "Built in 1855, Newmiln House Hotel in Perthshire is owned by Prince Abdul Aziz al-Thani, the brother of the Emir of Qatar, and has been used as a bolthole by the actors Jude Law and Liam Neeson and the model Kate Moss. The couple who spent 12 years renovating the hotel sold it to the prince for £2.3million in 1999 and continued to lease the estate and run the luxury hotel until they were evicted after a dispute over unpaid rent.
