After hearing rumours of a possible demolition in the near future, I figured it was time I finally made a trip to the glorious NGTE Pyestock facility in Farnborough.
We arrived early and did an initial walk of the perimeter, sizing up the place and deciding on our best point of access. Once in, we were quickly overwhelmed by the sheer scale of the place, feeling like a kid in some kind of industrial candy store.
About an hour into our visit we had our first encounter with the infamous Pye security, ducking out of sight just in time thanks to the quick wits of my exploring wingman, Serenity. Figuring we'd had our dose of excitement for the day, we continued to meander slowly around the site's various exhibits. Then, as we broke cover to enter another chamber, we spotted the legendary white Land Rover just 50 metres in front of us. We dashed for cover and then crashed to the ground, praying that we hadn't been seen, but at the same time almost positive that we had. There was a long drawn out moment as the Range Rover passed us and then..... didn't stop?! We couldn't believe our luck. Thanking our lucky stars we composed ourselves once again and finished the rest of our explore before riding off into the urban sunset. Also visited with Putrid Badger.
