NickUK's Derp Tour, North West - November 2013

Every once in a while Nick gets fidgety and messages me saying something like, "Mate, I need to get out and do something, don't care what!". He usually has no idea what's going on in the scene, so it falls on the rest of our group to think of locations for him to take one photo and have a cigarette inside. This time, Gone was keen to help me settle Nick's anxiety too - he made some suggestions, set a time and away we went.

It's a little known fact that Nick actually despises exploring, and usually the exploration element is arbitrary. All he really wants to do is have an excuse to talk crap with his friends and drive really fast. The formula is actually fairly predictable now... we get a makeshift list of humble targets together, get in Nick's car, make sure to go to McDonalds at least five times, all the while listening to an array of hip hop music whilst taking the piss out of each other.

St Saviour's, Bacup

It's in fairly good condition this one, so once you're in it just feels the same as taking photographs in a non-derp church.

After this, not really feeling the religious vibe, we decided we'd just go visit a load of swimming pools instead...

Chadderton Baths, Oldham

Visited with Gone and NickUK

Art Deco swimming baths. About 75 years old. Closed about 7 years ago. Quite photogenic.

Reddish Baths, Stockport

Visited with Gone and NickUK

Another swimming baths with just one pool. Very, very girly in here. Reddish Baths probably looks better in photos than it is to explore. Opened in 1908 and closed in 2005, I believe. It forms a set with the library and former fire station on the same plot of land. All are listed, so this just sits here waiting for intervention - as per.

The other lads decided to call it a day at this point. But I decided to head on over to Victoria Baths with the missus for a craft fair and make it a hat trick of swimming baths.
