No.4 Stores Depot opened at the end of WW1 as RAF Ruislip with 13 large (60ft span, 420ft long) storage sheds. In January 1972, the site was taken over by the USAF, who were replaced by the USN in December 1975 and the base closed on 1 October 2006. Around 1996 one of the MT sheds was converted into a cinema but at this time only one of the large store sheds was extant. The whole site, save the MQs and the school, were demolished in November 2007. There is however one WW1 barrack block and a guardhouse extant at the domestic site on the Ickenham Road (north of Ruislip & Ickenham Station).
