Hi all,

I was born at Nocton Hall RAF hospital in 1964. Never been back. But know I really want to visit Nocton Hall. Is it possible to visit the site ? I live in the Netherlands. So will need to know which airport is the nearest, is there a hotel or B&B near and most of all is it possible that someone visits the site with us and show us the most interesting buildings and other stuff. Any help is grately appreciated.

Kind regards
Franchesca Windley.

Nearest airports are:

a) Humberside (Hull)
b) Robin Hood (Doncaster)
c) Nithertorpe (Shelfield)
d) Nottingham City
e) Peterborough/Sibson

But you would need to check links from Holand, and Hire Car at airport!

The first two are "proper" airports (although fairly small), but only Humberside has direct flights to Schiphol (KLM).

The others are alright if you've got your own Cessna.

Another option is East Midlands Airport - Flybe fly to Schiphol from there.

This website is more about the DIY experience rather than providing guided tours, but some kindly soul might help you out (although be warned that accessing derelict/abandoned sites is a bit hit & miss, as access is constantly changing as owners re-secure their buildings or security actually get off their arses and do what they get paid for).
