This place has been covered a fair few times before, but thought I'd go up and have a look around for myself.
Some of the volunteers were up there, so asked them if they minded if I took some photos.

The sidings were originally built for use by the sand quarry, which is just up the hill from the track. This continued until 1988 when the last trains ran before the preservation society bought the line, earlier passenger services ceased in 1965. The actual Oakamoor station is further down the line past the tunnel, however only the platforms remain.

The Churnet Valley Railway has some interesting photos of their website when it was in action here.
