1. The History
For such a lovely building there’s very little info on the internet on this place. The early 19th century house is situated in extensive grounds that were first recorded on the first edition c.1880 and c.1905 Ordnance Survey maps.

The house in happier times:

The house has remained in residential usage to the end. However, on the death of the property’s owner the place was vacated in later 2013, has remained empty and is now in a poor state of repair. It has been the target of vandals and a number of break ins. The roof has been stripped of its lead flashing and now has significant water ingress. Strange that such a fine building has been left to decay rather than put on the market and sold.

2. The Explore
A relaxed solo explore one morning back in September 2019. Didn’t posted this place at the time but it subsequently got hit hard by a number of YouTubers and ghost hunters and splashed all over FB and YouTube. For some reason though, it’s not made it onto the forums. The house is lovely and is stuffed full of personal effects. There’s also a lodge at the rear in the extensive grounds. Not too sure what the future holds for this place. Apparently now the place has been resealed now and the security measured beefed up. Hopefully it will get sold and saved before it’s too late, but the roof is in a really poor state.

3. The Pictures
The first thing you come across is this fantastic decorative arch:

Then this old out-building:

The externals:

The external stonework is beautiful:

Date stone:

Summerhouse in the garden:

Three directors:

Really like this wooden fire surround:

Old school photo:

Why people do this, I don’t know:

So many fading memories:

And that staircase:

And that cupola:

Can’t beat a bit of Chas’n’Dave:

Some lovely features in there. Amazingly there are no planning applications for the house or lodge. It's not even registered with the Land Registry, so it's not been sold or mortgaged since prior to 1925 (when registration became compulsory)

Why people do this, I don’t know.
Probably the quickest way for Mr Pike to get the fittings out of it.

Cheers @Yorrick Yeah it's a weird one isn't it.

And that'll be exactly it re: the smashed sinks.
