Visited this with a friend who knew about this place. It was supposed to just be a recce but three strands of barbed wire and a lack of anyone else ment that the site was far to tempting to not explore.

Getting to the site required a five minuite walk. And through the trees and slightly below us we saw an old train shed. Then after that the trains. I have never been a train spotter but these just blew me away...

The siding seems as though it was used to fill up trains with the product from the local mine/quarry.

This engine (1960 dated) seemed to still be in use, which put us off having a look in the cab.

Some of the carriages were in really bad condition this one had rusted through.

A look inside on of the guards train.

Im planning on revisiting this site soonish and have a look in the carriages.

Some have been stripped bare, others are full of the chairs from the other carriages. But they are huge things. Never realised that trains were so big.
