Past this old pace today whilst walking my dogs . I was on land at the back of the silver horse in Wednesbury inbetween Potters lane and Bilport Lane. Access down to it looks easy but couldn't get a proper look to find a way in to the actual building as I was with dogs

If it is Newbys, I can tell you now its covered by 4x PTZ domes, redwall PIR's, and a Net-Vu system, cause I fitted it....

Newbys is a massive site and has a couple of empty buildings which they use to store tractor units and the like, the rear half of the site got sold off a couple of years ago

If you want to try it, I can literally view the site from home (i have the public IP to dial in to the net-vu in realtime, and can see exactly what the monitoring centre can see... its monitored by Cougar)
And the award for the person most likely to lose their job goes to....

Remember mate - if we can see the above, so can the buildings owner, your employer, etc.

Its no bother to me, I havent worked for the cctv firm for a while, besides I dont see what harm it will do, to tell people NOT to try entering the site?

hence the reason why i edited the post, obviously it doesnt edit the quotes, no I cant dial in any more. Never planned on robbing the place to be honest, and like I said I'm actually trying to DETER people from attempting it, the only reason I had that IP was from old paperwork, which clearly now is so old that its no longer applicable.

On a lighter note, I did fancy having a wander down that brook that runs under the roadbridge on site, there were some mahoosive dragonflies around there in the summer. never forget chucking co-ax'es across it and having to go knee deep to retrieve the reel after crap attempts at throwing

The whole place is covered with a dusting of dirty black foundry soot, inside the factories its like a black sandstorm all day, theres piles of the stuff everywhere and it just turns to black paste when you try wash it off...

originally, and probably still, they were on 12 foot poles with the PIRs attached half way down, in their own small fenced compounds and "crown of thorns" arrangement on the poles to stop people shinning up them. I think, from memory, they were 100m red-walls so the perimeter is well protected.
In their wisdom, Newbys never arranged vehicle-sized access to the compound, we had to use a cherry picker on the back of a transit, parked outside the compound and balancing with a set of ladders fudged underneath the basket to stop the whole lot tipping over and impaling on the spiky fence... fun times... this is after we'd had to clear the 6-foot bramble to get the transit near enough in the first place

I spotted the PIR I think

At the back of the building next to Newbys building

The site as a whole looks pretty active around the building but nothing happening in it

thats one of them, the brook is off to the left of the photo. theres more like that.

thats exactly the compund i mentioned, see the distance from the fence to the pole and imagine a cherry picker stretched all the way over that gap...

I'd honestly advise well against it, the new cop shop is literally at the end of the road, the monitoring centre is well on top, and the CCTV is shit hot.

I have been down there today... There seems to be a lot of developement going on around the land that the river Tame flows through. The whole plot of land is rather creepy, lots of old fencing (that looks as though it never served any purpose), dried up storm drains and graffiti from the late 80's. Does anyone know who owns the land?

Also if you go on Google Earth and use the time tool to view the site in 1999 you can see how much developement has gone on. Just over the Tame where wearhouses now stand there seemed to be some kind of power station with access on the duel carriageway, the thing was huge. It propbably was to replace the old powerstation at Ocker Hill.
