Hi!

We are newbies to Urban Exploring and made our first attempt at Newmiln House, Perthshire on Monday 3rd February.
We arrived to find the grassy areas neat and the stable outbuildings were open with some old items still lying around however the house itself was boarded up round the bottom floor with no open access and notices around warning of asbestos inside.

It was interesting to see the former tennis courts, and the tree swing remains intact.

We got some photographs with our mobile phones and a basic point and shoot Panasonic Lumix which turned out ok as we had plenty light arriving earlier afternoon. Was such a pity not to be able to explore or film inside and it cut the day short so we continued on to eat at The Bein Inn near Glenfarg and a pitch black night time walk through the first abandoned railway tunnel at Glenfarg.

We are obviously new to this so feel free to say hello and give us hints and tips, advice on exploring etiquette, historical info, maps, gear used for lighting, filming and photography and most interestingly which sites, particularly around Fife and surrounding areas you have explored which are still open and accessible. We would be interested in meet ups for small group explorations and meeting fellow enthusiasts.

Hi @Eck and Lisa

Welcome to 28, I've tidied this up a little for you as you had multiple copies of the same picture.

Not a bad first effort, more pics from the inside would be nice.

Have a read of these post to give you some help with future reports :thumb

As above, not bad for 1st report. More pics from inside is a must and some from the tunnels would of been nice as the title is misleading.

The links provided give good tips on how to put a report together & do`s & dont`s on here.

Well done from me on getting out there. Have fun on your urban adventure :thumb

Thank you for the tidy up as realised the photos were coming through duplicated for some reason. We will have to find out why this happened on both of our new posts and correct it in future.

Much appreciate the link on Forum guidance, we have read that and will follow suit.

We will add the photos we got from Glenfarg Tunnels as this was an oversight, cheers, however we couldn’t get access to Newmiln House as the whole bottom floor is secured so we were not able to enter to take photos of the interior.

Thank you so much and hello! This is great, so appreciate the replies and starting up guidance.

We really wanted to be able to gain enter the inside of the building to explore the interior however the whole bottom floor had been securely boarded up and locked so it wasn’t possible on this occasion.

I will put up some photos here so as you can see some from Glenfarg...a small oversight on our part as we did intend on doing that!

For a first report, thats pretty good. Nice one!

I would also like to see a few more pics from inside.
Thank you and Hi!
Appreciate you taking time to say hello and comment.

The only open buildings were the stable outbuildings which is where we found and photographed the letters in the pics above. Was very sorry to find on arrival the house itself had been secured so we could not gain access to film or photograph inside on this occasion. There were signs up stating no entry due to asbestos.

Thanks and it’s awesome to be here and get started.

Yes, haha, we neglected to remember to post the pics from Glenfarg so be coming up shortly. Think they are not too bad considering it was between 8-9pm so pitch dark with a standard medium LED torch and wee camera.

Hope you enjoy the photos and cheers for the friendly welcome.

Hi and YES! A welcome suggestion as we had only previously watched some video footage online from previous explorers who were able to get inside a little while back.

The tunnel link also, cheers as we wish to return with friends who now want to see Glenfarg.
