Thanks to the NE members I finanally found where this was, just about 50 yards from the pub I often have lunch in but I never realised.

Ouseburn culvert is basically a covered river through a bit of steep valley reclaimed by infilling. It was also used as a WW2 air raid shelter. The tunnel is so large water never fills it up so a second story concrete floor was added to the top half of the tunnel which is what can be explored now.

There are random holes in the floor to catch out the unwary, only a small drop but into a small sewer than runs along site the surface water drain beneath the upper floor.
