As far as i can tell Padworth Siding was used as a fuel depot for Greenham airbase. The only stuff i have found online about it is to do with ripping it down and building a recycling facility on the land.
The site is situated alongside the Reading-Newbury railway lines and is its own siding, trains could come into the site to either fill up or unload fuel alongside a set of shacks used to load and unload tanker trucks.
The fuel was stored in underground tanks but these have been pumped dry in the last few years and then plugged with concrete.
The site has been trashed by years of neglect and people smashing it up, there where also signs that someone had been sleeping or living out of one of the buildings.
