Went to the lakes for the weekend, and saw that this place had been previously covered by Jep27.
As it wasn't too far away, I thought we'd go check it out.
The site is quite remote with nothing else around it. It was a relaxed explore, spent over 2 hours there as it's quite a large site.
The building is on two levels, we started on the top floors and worked our way down. The upper floors are starting to rot in places, so if you visit be careful!
There are some underground places near some of the big machines that remain. I think these are for inspection / maintainence purposes.
It looks like the scrap men have had a field day, as most of the heavy machines and wiring have been ripped out. Lots of interesting bits and bobs remain on the site, in cupboards / store rooms etc.
The lights still work on the forklift, and its even got an orange beacon on it too which flashes
Welcome
