THE BIG TUNNEL now I know i did a report on this before but this is just an updated version which i will do to the small tunnel too so please enjoy
Starting of at New Bridge climbing down the 40 foot drop is easy enough but treacherous as hell one slip and your in the burn you go a gril from my school fell down this back in 2015 endedd up with a fractured arm so just be carefull when climbing down I do apologise for some bad photos

An old shopping trolley dumped of the bridge lying there some time

Wideshot of the lf bridge this stream is a drain for dungiven where its located raw sewage and storm water feed this river making it disgusting and prone to flooding.

Looking back towards the bridge behind me is the dark tunnel covered by a trash grille but the middles always kept open for high water to flow through and carry large debris bikes trolleys bags ect down into the blackness of the tunnel in severe weather conditions because the water could run down the street if this action was not preformed.

Looking out of the tunnel for those who read my last report there is a big weir that drops into a sump hole or pit which catches rubbish its 3 to 6 meters deep. A dinghy will be required for that section of the tunnel.

Standing at the mouth of the tunnel ready to embrace the darkness.

Ok so now I have arrived at the Concrete box section where the weir is located and the sump pit the concrete section is part of a bridge that was built into the culvert.

The weir which is 6 feet tall drops into meters of water.

The open section in the distance map shows where the sump pit is.
From here the water flows through a small open section and heads back into a 1970s concrete culvert which will be up soon you can get a run of it from the outlet of this tunnel because where the water exits under an ancient former bridge the water is over weilly depth and I do not have thigh waders. I had to wait until all the overgowth dies you know nettles things like that that cover the small open area which will be up soon so weekend maybe.
Before the new part of the tunnel was erected there used to be an old toy shop called millars which sat next to the open river I can still remember looking over the old box culvert bridge where the weir is located under and seeing the burn running open to air everytime we would go to the restaurant next to the bridge. those days have long passes and the river was buried in this culvert in 2012 lost forever.
the next section the 1970s tunnel will hopefully be up next week if not it wont me long thanks for looking.
