Plane Graveyard 2018 (Nigerian Government Plane)

Our Visit: Living pretty close to this airfield we decided to head over and take a look at some abandoned aircraft. The airfield is still used so we didn't know how easy it would be to gain access or even get close.
After finding our route in we headed over to the first aircraft, there's about 3/4 which look fully unused so we walked around for a while taking photos. Unfortunately, access to the aircraft was sealed so we didn't get a chance to look inside. Heading around the far side of the site we came across disused airstairs, pushbacks, refuelling trucks, engines, and various other vehicles. After the visit, we received information that one of the planes was used by the Nigerian government and after some research, it does look as if that's correct. We also believe that the aircraft was used to carry a Nigerian government delegate for Nelson Mandela's funeral back in 2013.
We spotted a couple of workers in the distance and the occasional car drove around but apart from that, the visit ended up being a success!

A few weeks later we decided to head back for a night explore to have a better look around without being spotted. This time we managed to make our way onto one of the planes. Most of it had been completely stipped however the cockpit was still accessible!! We didn't want to be seen to kept our torches to a minimum but managed to work out where everything was. We also maned to take a look around other aircraft including a massive Boeing British Airways plane.

I need to pluck up the courage to do an explore there, only ever did a brief tour of part of the perimeter years ago.

Good to see a 727 still intact... good find. I suspect at that location there are there waiting to be "parted out".
