Visited with Catullus. We started off in the cooling tower, which was filled with mud and water. 2 months of heavy rain meant that the mud was deep enough for me to lose my shoes a few times. Then we went up inside the cooling tower by climbing the slats, only to realise afterwards that there was a door. Oh dear.
Then we went over the river to the main building. However, a security car was parked near to our entrance point and there was no way to go other than past it. We ran past hoping to go unnoticed and made our way in. After a few hours inside, we still hadn't found the control room. We kept searching but to no avail, and eventually it was time to leave. After making our way back to our exit point, we saw that there were now 2 security cars parked there, both with the boot open. Again, we picked our moment and then went for it, and we managed to get up the road unseen. But halfway up the road out, another security car went past, and the driver gave us an angry look. He pulled up by the other cars and started beeping his horn and shouting in French. I'm assuming it was something along the lines of "Are you guys blind?". Before we reached the top of the road, a 4th security car passed us on its way out.
History: Power Plant IM was a coal fired Electrabel power station that was built in 1921. It was mothballed in the early 2000s and decommissioned in about 2006/2007.
