I know this has been done a million times, but it’s the first time I’ve personally visited the airfield. It was so great to see some of the aircraft up close again! I was brought up in a military family so I was very use to being in and around air craft from a young age.

My father even used to train here in his career which is really cool to hear some great stories also.
History:
I believe it’s now run by the Royal Navy but was originally RAF.
Opened in 1941, it was many of the RAF bases opened when SW England was vulnerable to attacks from Germany.
These days it’s used for training and as a relief airfield I believe.
