The Princess Royal Hospital was originally named Hull Royal Infirmary - Sutton. The change of name was to avoid confusion with the main Hospital site in West Hull. It was built around 1921 and added to over the years. A large part closed in 2008 and most of the remaining medical facilities closed to the public last summer.
Dermatology, physiotherapy and X-ray services are still carried out at Princess Royal.

The eventual closure coincided with the opening of the new £67m Queen's Centre for Oncology and Haematology at Castle Hill hospital in Cottingham.
The hospital specialised in Gynaecology, Nephrology, Urology, Oncology and Radiotherapy. There were four operating theatres on site.

Due to the amount of asbestos used in the construction of the buildings, buyers consistently put prices in that were too low for the NHS who eventually decided to level the whole site to "improve the land's market value, making it more attractive to potential buyers."

Its been a thorn in my side for a long time this place, i've tried and failed, time and time again. Security have always been good because of the area, your usual CCTV, regular patrols with big dogs etc but in the last couple of years it was stepped up, weird sound detecting cones and camera's like R2D2 kicking about all over to catch you out.
A guard was stabbed & beaten a while ago by a group of pikeys so they were very paranoid and you were guaranteed police when caught.

A friend i explore with locally managed to get into a small part a few weeks ago but i couldn't get down there until recently.

We returned to find this.....
