Carrieres-sur-Seine is a village west of Paris which I visited by car. Finding there was ok, but getting back was a real horrortrip. Paris suburbs by car suck.
The only thing I could find on this quarry was this link : ..: LUTECIA Centre de documentation [L'industrie de la pierre à bâtir à Carrières-sur-Seine] :..
My French is extreme small, so I leave it to you, to find some infos in there.
I don't even know the name of the quarry I have been in, sorry, just that there had been a champignon farm in there.
All quarry was white painted and plastic boxes, etc to be found. Some areas with lots of sand and boxes of wood, a champignon plantage too,
25 meter of plastic sacks on the earth, looking like soldiers
I had a map to find the entrance (thanks OT for your support, was me a real help) and one for inside, which I did not understand any little bit.
Couldn't find the entrance for quite a while, so had a fine visit over the onground roof of the quarry, a big dump for stones, earth and any different shit, overgrown by bushes,
but with some interesting shafts, etc.
At least I found it just 200 meter from my car, at a place I had not gone first as there were earthworks done with machines.
They were stopped then, when it got late afternoon. I visited most of the quarry by night, but would recommend it by day, when you have some nice lighting by open shafts.
1-3 shafts, ventilation or whatever
4 looking downwards, interesting cut through the ground; not too much firm material
5
A couple of shafts to be seen on ground, holes in the earth, would not really trust this area, might be "La Defense" in the background.
6-9
10-12 a bricked gate, more quarry or other entrance ?
13 masses of rotten wodden boxes, really masses, like mountains
14 a lost caterpillar, the shovel from another report is gone
15 some lost cars
16
17
18 this one burned out
19 tank
20 mind that stabilisation
21-23 found a place for concerts, selfmade tables and a bar
24 office of the champignon farm
25
26 looks like a bar there
