Further to our recent visit to RAF North Luffenham, Jakob and I thought we'd better share our trip.

Permission was given for this visit, we were wearing hi-vis jackets we were watched and tracked, and advised where NOT to go because of the usage of the site.

Please note a couple of things:

1. The site is used alot of the time as a live firing range.
2. The site is still active and is now called St. Georges Barrack.
&
3. The site has very active security, also soldiers with guns, SA80's I think.

Anyway enough chat and the pictures.

The site was used as a Thor site and still has the blast shelters and assorted other bits for that.

Wow, what a place, this is the kind of exploring I need to figure out. Is this a case of who you know and not what you know? This kind of exploration fascinates me, amazing photos and thanks for sharing

We used to train there.
The stuff is placed in areas for overhead reconnaissance training.
We used to find all sorts of munitions dotted around the area & the helicopter crashed into the trees as a training aid.
A very interesting place with a lot of history from the Cold War & I believe Thor missile launch site.
