I went there with a friend recently, getting the 25A bus from Oxford City Centre. The bus doesn't run on Sundays, so be careful, and is only hourly. Also, as we found out there is a minor security presence during the week, so Saturday is ideal. The history of the place as a British and later American airbase is really interesting, and there's a good paragraph on it here if you're interested.

We went for the school area first. Located at the far west of the site, this is very easy to get into, well hidden from the road and - simply - massive. This sprawling complex of white bungalow corridors, classrooms and toilets is easy to get lost in. Unfortunately it's clearly seen a lot of visits, and is in a pretty poor state. However, it's definitely worth having a look around.

A ridiculous number of buildings, all with tens of rooms each (most locked, but many accessible if you're crafty). The ones which were harder to get in were in great condition too, so it's worth it.

Some of the buildings were more dilapidated than others
