Yep this one again...

Probably one of the most well known and most visited Urbex locations in the country so doesnt need much of an introduction. For those that don't already know RAF Upwood is a large, abandoned military base. From what I understand it has been recently purchased with the intention of building houses on the land. Therefore probably wont be around too much longer. We visited on an unusually hot day in April and had a great time nosing about. We didn't get to see every inch of it however due to a large gathering of rowdy young men hanging out on one of the rooftops who were having a great time shouting and throwing beer bottles around. We gave them a wide berth. So much to see here and still an interesting place despite the vandalism. Will be a shame when it's gone however I do of course appreciate that housing would be a much better use of the area. Apologies for the less than outstanding photos, I am new to photography and this visit was as much about practicing with my new camera as it was about urbexing.

Thanks for looking. :)

I've been here so many times and ever seen the doors in your 6th picture. Nice shots!

Its such a massive site it would be hard to see every inch. It's somewhere in the buildings behind the building that says "RAF Upwood". Thanks :)

Some nice atmospheric shots there mate! I particularly like the Black and White ones.

That place is shot to shit now, Fires almost daily so I hear. The kids that seem so intent on breaking everything have broken a few pipes and laggin and boards that almost certainly contain asbestos, so theyve probably given themselves a dose. I was there a couple of weeks ago (Yet to go through photos) and they have started building already. The new houses are backing right up to the Sgts Mess. Unfortunately, its in such a state now, there isnt much more they can do with it apart from pull it down and build houses, so its on borrowed time.

Thank you very much for your kind compliments:) Blimey the new buyer isnt wasting time then? Oh well, its had a good run I guess and housing is a better use of the site than what it is now tbh. Glad I got to see it for myself before it was too late!

Really!! what did they think you were after? moss, peeling paint, dirt, all illegal you know and deffo CID work ;)

Lol.. we'd been on a exploring rd trip and got to Upwood late & in the dark, so we ditched the car near by and went in.
On our way out we could see torch lights all around the car so we waited till they'd gone then left.
Turns out the live base next door got suspicious of the car and took the number plate down.
They sent a couple fellas to my home in Eastbourne days later while I was at work.
My wife had to talk her way out of it all.

I explored last night,
most of it is demolished few buildings left
easy access
!!NO SECURITY!!

No it hasn't, only the medical centre has been demolished which is currently having houses built on it. When those are completed the rest of the place has a demolition application hanging over it.
