We came out of Smallcleugh lead mine early as more snow was forcast but this seemed to be late coming which gave us an opportunity for a look round Rampgill.
This mine was in a much poorer condition than the other with many roof falls & the water above critical welly depth. Some of the falls have been dug out & made good in various ways but I managed to get stuck in one as my boiler suit got snagged on the rusty metal barrel. I kept calm, had a breather & then pulled myself forward ripping myself out of the boiler suit & into a less confined space.
