Visited part of a day trip to Kent with Cyberchi to see how many sites we could visit in one day! As we couldn’t find away into the Ramsgate Tunnels, we decided to check the next best alternative the Rank Hovis Flour Mill.

My first flour mill explore, although not as big as I expected, it was still a good mooch around for an hour or two. At least I got to smell some ‘fresh’ sea air and not the pollution from London!

Plenty of machinery in place, although as ever signs of it being trashed by locals, metal thieves and also the obligatory birds!

A brief history of the Rank Hovis Flour Mill, cobbled together from various sources:

The Ramsgate Rank Hovis Flour Mill was built in 1865 and was operational until 2005. Since then, there have been plans to develop the dormant sites into flats. However due to the current economic crisis these have now been put on hold. The buildings are Grade 2 listed.
