The factory was founded in 1928 by Portland-Cement-Werke Hausen AG. But it got bancrupt in 1932.
1937, Dr. Münzel’s Chemische Werke started processing Oil for paint (varnish) industries. Shortly afterwards, it got renamed to Oel- und Chemiewerke AG.
1951, they merged into the american Reichhold chemicals inc. and are then called Reichhold Chemie AG.
They developed, produced and sold materials based on polymers, such as synthetic resin, emulsions, softening agents and general petrochemical products.
Production stopped in 1993.
Here a site overview
Before entering
When I arrived, it was a bit foggy which gave the scenery an interesting look.
On site
Many windows were smashed but I was surprised that the walls were almost free of graffitis and tags.
An overview
The first builing I explored was the furnace building. There is a rotating furnace.
Even though the board rules say not to post pictures of light switches, I just have to do it, I like that speckled wall.
Funnel
Oil tank, I guess
Another tank
The same tank again, nice coating…
… and colours
Grill
Abandoned cabinets
Pumps in the furnace room
The furnace (or is that thing called rotary kiln?)
This drives the furnace
Nice vice
There was a small office with some controls and a desk.
A 360° panorama
The same as a QTVR panorama:

On the way to the main building...
In the main building
In the main building, there are some huge silos. They are approx. 3m in diameter and at least 10m high. I have no clue what they stored here.
Gangway in front of these silos

Back side of those silos
To be continued…
