My third report here and something a little different to those I have posted before.

I found this whilst scrolling around Google Maps, looking for something else entirely. It looked interesting so we took a drive down in the early hours to take a look. We were not to be disappointed. Although it has been absolutely destroyed there are enough remaining features to keep it interesting and you can really tell what a fabulous place it would once have been. From the wallpaper, to the flooring and fireplaces - it still has a fair bit to show off.

I have not been able to track much in the way of history for the place, other than the fact that the owners used to run an equestrian supply business from the top floor of the property. Given the area and proximity to the racecourse, this was hardly a revelation. The building was still in use up to 2010 and has not had any fire damage (surprisingly) so the level of decay was a bit of a surprise. Downstairs has been pretty much totally emptied now, with even most of the flooring removed. Clamber up the stairs and it changes a little, though it has been ransacked. There is paperwork strewn everywhere and all other possessions have been destroyed.

The good news is that the place has just started to undergo a renovation, so should soon be back to its former glory. Something that it certainly deserves.

Hope you like.

Nice big place, lots of natural decay there. I quite like this. It must of been quite a good looking property in its time :thumb

Thank you! It would once have been something beautiful. I couldn't get to it as the neighbours were in their yard but the roof on the left side has a pointed conical section, almost like a tower. A lot of house here.

Yes to this, well done!!

Interesting that the fireplaces are still there. It's possible the floors have gone as part of the current or a previous renovation attempt.

Love searching the maps. Actually found a car graveyard to a little to te south too but a very secure fence cut that short.

I think you are likely right re. the flooring, too much gone to be anything else.
