Report - ROC Honingham 21/4/18

This is my first post here but I stumbled upon this ROC post whilst driving through the Norfolk countryside. I just had to turn round and check it out.

In my excitement of finding a post I didn't get any pictures from outside and at first glance it looked locked and inaccessible. To my delight the padlocks weren't actually attached and a gentle pull on the hatch and up it went.

For a brief moment I thought I was in Australia, i didn't even know spiders could get that big in England!! Minor spider phobia aside I climbed down expecting a half flooded, vandalized mess. I was wrong.

I must remember to never look down the toilets again!

A quick search on Google and the last recorded visit is dated 2008. It still looks pretty much the same so not sure if many people have been down here since. Perhaps the spiders are too off-putting.

I think I'm catching the explorer bug...

I'd say so, it hasn't been destroyed by vandals like most in my area.

Great ROC post, Sam! Hardly vandalized at all, the majority of the Posts in Norfolk I have been to have been destroyed. It's fantastic to see one that has original furniture in it!

I haven't been down any others but most seem to be flooded, destroyed or burnt out according to Google. I was surprised not only to find one when I wasn't looking, but to find one in its condition.
