Hey im new here, I did use search but i end up with more of a generalised group of results on this.
Im just wondering if ROC posts noteably contain asbestos? Im on about one in fairly good condition,
The white tiles? the ceiling? does anybody whether they do or not?
thanks

The tiles are usually polystyrene, that was the "upgrade" to reduce cold and damp for the occupants. I don't think there was anything asbestos other than the fireblanket in the standard fitout of the posts. That said, many have been used to dump unpleasent stuff in by unscrupulous folk.

Apologies for blurry photos.
I visited an ROC post recently and i took these pair of photos together at the top inside of the top of the ventilation hatch on the side.
It looked almost exactly like that picture i have also attached below

Its white asbestos cement. Not really particularly harmful. Theres a lot worse out there to get you.

left where it is, im sure it isnt harmful i can imagine it being a problem for someone who may wish to restore a post though
