Well, it's been a while since Rolls Royce moved out to the other side of the road, sales of the site have been made and fallen through, and now the demolition has begun.

For such a large site access is not the easiest, but where there's a will there's a way. The first thing we realised was this is one massive place, it could possibly be up there with the likes of Longbridge and Guinness in size. Unlike those two though, it's very stripped, because the place just moved next door, rather than closed totally. There's still plenty to see though and I'm sure further explores will find some great things hidden away.

I can't find any credible history of the site, and that relates to specifically this site and not the rest of the Filton aerodrome, so if you can find it, please post it up.

Needless to say, this is where Rolls Royce at least maintained, overhauled and repaired large jet engines for civil and military customers, like the Pegasus (Harrier) and the RB211 (Tristar, 747, 757)...

These were interesting... at once time they were identical, each had a large opening at the back, maybe engine test bays...

Missed KFC, so stopped off for a great pizza just down the road.

All in all, worth an explore, but don't bother so much with the sheds, there isn't anything that great in there.
